Fu*k it, I’m releasing the contents of my book…

Yes. Fu*k it. I’m releasing the contents of my book. I don’t think anyone else has ever done this. And of course this has some commercial reasons to it. So, why did I decided to release it anyway? Well, the whole reason I started writing this book is because of the fact that I want to write a book that I wish I had read before I started my startup. But in order to determine if the book is really something that could help you, it’s interesting to see if the contents are matching your expectations, right? So, that’s reason number 1:

Reason #1

Inform you about where the book is really all about so you can determine if it fits you.

Reason number 2 is just an emotional reason:

Reason #2

I’m too fu*king enthusiastic about my book!!!!

So. Pretty good reasons to release the contents, right? And do you know what? In a future blog post I will release ONE WHOLE CHAPTER of the book also. Just so you can have a feeling on how the book is written.

Explainer: the book has 3 chapters: THINK, BUILD and ACT. I wanted to write a book that starts with “thinking” about your startup, where a lot of mind-set and creativity comes in play. The chapter that follows up on this is “building” the actual thing you’ve came up with. And the final chapter is “acting” like a founder when you need to expand, grow and scale with your startup.

✏️ Designing the book

The first designs are in! We have a cover and the stylesheet for the illustrations, which will appear before each new chapter. Let’s check them out!

Cover 📘

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen the cover already. In fact, you may have even contributed to it. I asked you guys for feedback on different covers and this was the winner:

The main chapters 📖

We have three main chapters titled ‘THINK’, ‘BUILD’ and ‘ACT’, which serve as the main theme throughout the book. These chapters will be visualized like this:

The illustrations ✏️

I wanted the book to be visual. Each chapter starts with a relevant visual to set the right tone. Like this one, which will introduce the chapter ‘Just start’:

And this one for the chapter ‘No money’:

Excited to hear your feedback! 🔥

Why I’m writing my book?

I’m currently busy writing my first book Startupism. As with everything I do, there is a ‘why’ behind this book. Let me tell you all about it.

Sharing what I’ve learned 😍

I’ve founded multiple startups over the past decade, some successful, others not. I’ve built and bid farewell to teams because I wanted to continue as a digital nomad. I’m currently the founder of three startups with nearly $1.000.000 in annual profit. By sharing what I’ve learned while building my startups, I hope to help you on the road to creating your own successful business.

In Startupism, I will talk about all the things that went right and wrong. More importantly, I will talk about the things I wish I’d known before venturing off on my own. It’s not just about the idea behind your startup; equally important is how you play the game as a founder. You see, the term ‘startupism’ sounds a bit philosophical and that’s because it is. Founding a startup comes from the heart and is guided by your mind and all of the steps you take.

Startupism philosophy 🌱

We all know someone who’s claimed to have the next big idea. So why didn’t they end up pursuing it? Simple: because of our tendency to overthink things. We stress about A and Z and totally forget about B through Y. Nothing is an overnight success, which means you’ll have to go step by step. Founding a startup is less like driving a Ferrari on Route 66 and more like driving a jeep in the Dakar Rally. The road will be bumpy and in Startupism I will happily join you on this journey.

What can you expect 😎

Startupism will contain everything you need to know to THINK, BUILD and ACT like a startup founder. You will learn how to come up with an idea for your startup and how to find your first customers. Once you gain traction and start focusing on growth, you will learn how to find funding, how to build a team and everything that comes with creating your own startup.

When can you expect it?
Startupism will be available in both paperback and as an official ebook on this website and on Amazon. I expect to finish and release it later this year.
